Mother? Monster? What do we make of Magda Goebbels? Everyone is welcome as one woman, Sara Kewly, ponders the limits of empathy asking if some actions really are beyond comprehension and… does the backing music make any difference? Using speech, song and even a little dance, I’m Just Like Magda Goebbels focuses its sometimes irreverent, Weimar lens on the chilling events in Hitler’s bunker at the end of World War Two.
Theatre-make Sara Kewly has worked in a variety of prisons for almost five years. She is fascinated by how we think about and respond to women who have committed serious crimes. Wonder is a participatory arts company that develop socially-engaged devised work, creating thought-provoking performances that use all five senses to ask questions about how we live today.
